About The Blooger

Well, a good question you might be asking is, “Who are you” and “Why should we care”? Fair enough I will fill in the blanks!

I am The Executive Director for a nonprofit organization called, Friends In Transition. We have been around for over 18 years providing a friend to someone forgotten in the prison system. Me personally, I have been with the organization since 2006, contracting and participating in working with mentoring inmates. I have a 20 year history of Counseling that included working with Addictions, Domestic Violence and those Incarcerated. I have developed a pilot program for inmates who recidivate with a team at Washington House in Commerce City, CO; a Domestic Violence Program from conception to implementation and Mentoring that is inclusive of Restorative Justice thinking. I have worked 5 years with Prison Fellowship as a Field Director for Southern Colorado and New Mexico coordinating volunteers, Angel Tree and Operation Starting Line. I am currently in recovery 25 years, married over 21 years with a Son in CSU and a Daughter in 8th grade. Helps with the college payments to spread the kids out, don’t you think! I am a musician that leads worship anywhere; a drummer and keyboardist with a passion for my God, His plans and His hope for people who are lost and hurting. Wow, sounds like a resume! Need a consultant? I am also involved in Celebrate Recovery leading worship and encouraging these great support groups for those struggling with hurts, hangups and habits!

I am a CAC-III with 9 credits to complete a BA in Counseling at Vision University.

Just because you asked, there you go!
